Ms. ¿t¿pni¿kova is a regular visitor to the zoo and often stops by to take pictures of Adjaba.

“I love seeing them act like this, and it was by accident.

“I try to visit this group of gorillas at least once a week and have been doing so for 16 years.

“They are like my family.”

Previously, Ms. Shtepnichkova photographed Ajaba dancing and cheering at the zoo in 2020.

Shortly after Adjabu’s birth, Ms. Shtepnichkova noticed a playful gorilla who loves to wrestle with her older brother Kiburi.

She said, “Ajabu loves Kiburi very much. He loves to play with it, although he usually catches a few rough hits and flies through the pavilion thanks to his brother.

“But it’s amazing to see Ajabu come to Kiburi after that and snuggle up to each other.

“Kiburi hugs him tenderly and caringly, lovingly taking care of his little brother, who often falls asleep.”

Cheerful males fight in their enclosure, using props such as a chest, logs and hammocks.

The footage also captures the moment a large male silver-backed gorilla approaches the siblings to interrupt their monkey business and break up a playfight.

Juveniles instantly calm down and disperse when an adult male punishes them.

Adjabu (pictured) had a tantrum at the zoo when Mrs. ¿t¿pni¿ková started taking pictures.
