Trump used a Secret Service agent’s phone to call his wife after Stormy Daniels’ allegations fell apart

Former President Donald Trump used a Secret Service agent’s phone to make a private call to his wife, Melania Trump, after allegations resurfaced in 2018 about his sexual relationship with porn star Stormy Daniels.

The then-president was on the golf course when news of his alleged one-night stand with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, hit the headlines again.

It first swept the tabloids shortly after the fling, which Trump denies, but resurfaced a year after Trump’s presidency after allegations were circulated that he paid Daniels money to keep quiet shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

Trump attempted to call the then first lady on his cell phone, but after she was unable to pick up, he attempted to call her on the Secret Service agent’s device. Melania, Trump’s third wife, reportedly answered the second call.

A former White House aide, speaking to CNN about Trump’s phone habits, said the agent was “unhappy” that the president was using his phone in this way.

The source also said the president is “disgusted by anyone who listens to his calls” and frequently uses devices belonging to a nearby aide or secret service agent to make phone calls.

The aide also claimed that Trump treated the phone as a lifeline, saying, “He answered all the calls.”

CNN detailed Trump’s phone habits in a report released Sunday after a team investigating the January 6 U.S. Capitol uprising found “unusual gaps” in the president’s phone logs.

Sources familiar with the House investigation say the president had a habit of changing his personal mobile phones and using someone else’s devices to communicate with supporters and family.

The hours-long hiatus reportedly came after he spoke to his supporters in the Ellipse on January 6, 2021, and continued until he addressed the nation from the White House Rose Garden.

Trump may have decided not to make or receive calls during this time period, sources say. They also claim that he may have used other devices to run his phone business.

So far, the committee has refused to look for the former president’s private phone records or other people’s phone records. It is unclear if they will do so in the future.

Sources also say the president can be difficult to reach, especially if he doesn’t want to talk to the person calling him.

“He liked to talk to people he agreed with,” explained another former assistant.

Others said the best way to reach the president was to contact his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, or his daughter Ivanka Trump.

Mark and Ivanka allegedly addressed the president on behalf of the caller, and he accepted the call or “waving them away with the back of his hand.”

In addition, it is said that the president would not take his personal mobile phone with him to the Oval Office.

News of Trump’s alleged conversation with Melania comes weeks after famed lawyer Michael Avenatti was found guilty of stealing $300,000 from Daniels, who was owed money for writing a book about her alleged date with the ex-president.

The lawyer became a household name during the porn star’s legal battle with Trump over the silence money she received for an alleged affair with a then real estate developer in 2006.

Daniels claims she had a sexual encounter with Trump at a Lake Tahoe hotel a year after he married his third wife, Melania. Trump denied sexual contact.

She claimed that in 2011, an unidentified man approached her in a Las Vegas parking lot and threatened her after she agreed to speak to the media about an alleged affair.

Daniels, whose young daughter was with her, claims the man said, “He leaned over and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It would be a shame if something happened to her mom.”

In 2018, more than a year after Trump became president, she posted a sketch of a man who allegedly threatened her. Trump responded to the sketch on Twitter, writing: “Years later, a sketch about a non-existent person. Complete scam, playing fake news for fools (but they know it)!”

The adult film actress has filed a lawsuit against Trump in federal court, saying his comment showed that he thinks she is a liar. Her lawyers said the judge was wrong to dismiss the lawsuit under Texas law, which allows for quick resolution of cases deemed to violate the right to free speech. Trump also received $292,000 in legal fees and $1,000 in sanctions.

She also detailed the alleged romance in her 2018 memoir Full Disclosure.
