Aries (March 21 to April 19)
This is a masculine or “yang” fire cardinal sign, meaning that Aries tend to be active, passionate, and independent with strong convictions. They need partners who understand them and don’t try to dampen their fiery nature, so the other fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius can make good partners, but arguments are still quite likely.
The air signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius feed the fire, but Libra is opposite Aries on the zodiac wheel, so this union can bring some difficulties. Aquarius and Gemini are the best partners.
Difficult relationships are likely with the mutable signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Aries is a sign of changeable fire, so relationships with other Aries are a mixed bag.
Taurus (April 20 to May 20)
This is a female Yin earth fixed sign, so Taurus tends to be self-centered, practical and independent, sometimes bordering on stubbornness.
Relationships with the earth signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn can work, but care must be taken to ensure these matches don’t get bogged down with feelings of depression or stuck in a rut.
Relationships with the water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces can add the emotional connection needed for balance, but Scorpio’s opinions can lead to clashes.
Cancer brings extra care and is usually a good choice. A Virgo-Capricorn relationship can work, but relationships with fixed-mode signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius present problems, especially if both partners are set up differently.
Gemini (May 21 to June 20)
This is a yang sign of volatile air, making Gemini outgoing, outgoing, and flexible. Geminis can be quite intellectual and love to think and strategize about most things.
They get along well with other Gemini and other Air signs, Libra and Aquarius, where there is a lot of talk, some degree of detachment can occur. But sometimes it’s good.
The fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are attractive, but the volatile Sagittarius has a penchant for mega-changes – whether you like it or not. Leo’s match could work well.
The other mutable signs, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, can create problems with a lot of change in outlook and change in purpose.
Cancer (June 21 to July 22)
This is a cardinal yin water sign, so Cancers are usually self-reflective, emotional, innovative, or inflammatory.
They find support in the water signs Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces; however, sometimes these unions can be very emotional and difficult.
The earth signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn can provide the ground that emotional Cancer needs to thrive, but Capricorn can be too serious or conservative to please Cancer.
Virgo or Taurus have good prospects. The cardinal signs Aries, Libra, and Capricorn love to keep things going, but problems arise when they try to keep going, and commitment can be a problem.
Leo (July 23 to August 22)
This is a yang Fixed Fire sign, outgoing, warm, and often of a strong opinion.
While good relationships are possible with Leo and other fire signs, Sagittarius and Aries, arguments can explode quickly as fire signs can be emotionally unstable.
Alliances with the air signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius can work well, especially with Libra where harmony and passion ignite. The Fixed Signs Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius tend to have fixed opinions that can breed conflict and stubbornness.
Relationships with other Leos can come down to who will be “in charge of the laundry.”
Virgo (August 23 to September 22)
This is the sign of the Mutable Earth “yin”, thoughtful, cautious and choosy.
Virgo can enjoy good relationships with the earth signs Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, but they should beware that the relationship does not get stuck in a routine or boredom.
The watery emotional energy of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces can give a real sense of connection, and sometimes Mutable Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces can show too much change or emotionality.
Relations with Scorpio can be quite good, but Aries can constantly make adjustments. Other Virgos can work, as there is often a strong resemblance between them.
Libra (September 23 to October 22)
This is a yang cardinal-air, loving beauty, peace, but most of all love.
Libras are truly in love with the idea of love and can enjoy wonderful relationships with other Air signs including Libra, Gemini and Aquarius.
Sometimes there is some detachment, especially with Aquarius, but the stimulation of mental energy adds fuel to this relationship. Fire signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius can also make good partners.
However, there can be strong clashes, especially with the bold Aries. The lion is likely to be quite attractive.
Cardinal Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are a “mixed bag” and conflicts can crop up regularly.
Scorpio (October 23 to November 21)
It is a yin Fixed Water sign, focusing on inner reflection and strong emotions.
Scorpios are often “magnetically attractive” and Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces from water signs make good partners.
There can be many emotions in this relationship that take both partners deep into subconscious waters.
The earth signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn help ground Scorpio in practical reality, but Taurus can seem a bit conservative to Scorpio. Virgo and Capricorn can be great partners.
Fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius need to go with the flow more to get the most out of this relationship.
Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)
This is a yang sign of changeable fire, adventurous and expansive. Sagittarius enjoys freedom and needs an open-minded partner, so the fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are good potential partners, although relationships with fire signs can bring both passion and fickleness.
Relations with the air signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius can work out very well.
However, sometimes there are violent clashes with Gemini, which is also a mutable sign. Other volatile people – Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces also have problems, as volatility can lead to many changes in relationships.
Capricorn (December 22 to January 19)
This is a cardinal yin earth sign, solid, reliable, and generally hardworking. Relationships with the earth signs Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn can work out well as you are both working on the same thing.
There is a risk that these unions will get bogged down in work commitment, seriousness and a general lack of buoyancy. Ideally, you could have some fun with the water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces, which complement Capricorn.
A Cancer marriage can often get too emotional for Capricorns, which is why Scorpio and Pisces are the best partner. Capricorn and other cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra have “conditions”.
Aquarius (from January 20 to February 18)
This is a Yang Fixed Air sign that is outgoing, innovative, and humane. Air signs Gemini and Libra are good partners and the only risk is that you will talk for hours and do nothing.
The fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius can also make great partners, but Fixed Leo can sometimes seem overconfident to Aquarius.
The other fixed signs Taurus and Scorpio are probably not flexible enough for Aquarius.
Your Aquarius sign is a little “mixed”, you get along well, but occasionally bump heads as neither wants to change their minds.
Pisces (from February 19 to March 20)
This is the sign of volatile water “yin”, which means to be emotional, intuitive and creative.
The water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces are great for deep and passionate relationships, but sometimes too much emotion comes to the surface, which means they may lack grounding and practicality.
The earth signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn provide stability and reality by bringing balance, but Virgo may find Pisces too intense, putting you on an emotional roller coaster.
The mutable signs Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius can create problems, especially with regard to the decision making and structures that Pisces needs.
