Las Vegas casino offers Adele fans the opportunity to see a fake celebrity for free

Fans who were heartbroken over the cancellation of Adele’s Las Vegas residency can now wipe their tears and watch the tribute performance for the singer for free.

Tribute vocalist Janae Longo, 45, can be seen performing Adele’s biggest hits at Tropicana. According to casino bosses, she has an uncanny stage presence compared to the Grammy-winning British singer.

They are so confident in Longo’s abilities that fans whose tickets to Adele’s actual performance in Sin City have been canceled have been offered the opportunity to come to the Tropicana for free until September 5th.

“My goal is to honor Adele’s memory and I hope she knows I’m doing it out of respect and love,” Longo told the New York Post. “I hope it makes her smile.”

It comes after the Hello singer received backlash from fans who spent between $800 and $2,000 a piece to cancel her four-month Weekends with Adele event at Caesar’s Palace in light of the COVID pandemic.

Longo, who works as a professional hair and makeup stylist, was previously a Carnival Cruise artist for 14 years and also briefly performed Christmas carols in Nevada for four months.

She also earned a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and musical theater, which helped her long career as a professional singer.

After a cross-country trip to Nevada, the Buffalo native successfully auditioned for the “Legends in Concert” event in Las Vegas, performing her rendition of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”

The Legends in Concert event showcases the talent of various iconic singers and other celebrities.

“I immediately started practicing her hints and mannerisms,” Longo told the New York Post. “I listened to all her songs over and over until I memorized all her vocal nuances.

“She shares a piece of her heart in every song and I really wanted to emulate that magic.”

Tropicana is offering heartbroken fans the opportunity to see Longo as Adele for free as compensation for the concert's cancellation.

In addition to her skills as a performer, Longo also fully transforms into character, successfully mimicking the legendary performer’s hair, makeup, and even fashion style.

“I do my own hair and makeup for performances,” Longo told the Post. “Celine, Cher, Gaga (impersonators) and myself do our own makeup.

“They are outstanding makeup artists as well as great tribute performers and watching everyone transform backstage is amazing.”

Even though Longo only appeared as a tribute, she still stated that fans are still “gracious” for her work as a singer and impersonator.

“When I was first hired, I was very flattered, but I was worried that all the Adele fans would throw tomatoes at me for not being her,” she added. “But all Adele fans are so gracious.

“I’m honored to welcome the talent (Adele) on stage every night.”

As part of the event, other performers also imitate famous singers such as Cher, Lady Gaga and Celine Dion.

“I am amazed that I got to perform alongside these outstanding tribute artists,” Longo said. “I’m very proud to be part of this amazing team that gives fans a taste of their favorite singers, especially now when people need some joy and positivity.”

However, Longo is no stranger to criticism for turning into a “fake” Adele.

“I’ve seen really terrible things people have said about me online and I’m not going to lie – it hurt,” she said.

“But I am learning to ignore the negative. If they want to be unhappy, that’s their choice.”

Longo can be seen performing as Adele six nights a week at the Tropicana in Las Vegas.
