Channing Tatum talked about getting in shape for the upcoming Magic Mike 3 in an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The 41-year-old actor said he hesitated when he was approached to reprise his role in Magic Mike’s Last Dance due to difficulty keeping fit.

“It’s tough,” the 21 Jump Street star said. “Even if you train to be in this shape? It’s unnatural.”

Clarkson asked him if he was eating well while maintaining weight, to which the star replied, “You have to starve yourself.” I don’t think when you’re this thin it’s really good for you.”

“Guys, a new public announcement, your health is bad!” He then joked with the Stronger singer.

Despite how scruffy Tatum looks in many of his movie roles, the star admitted that he struggles with rigorous exercise and dieting.

Tatum wondered if it was actually great to lose weight when he said and admitted that

“The truth is, I don’t understand how people who work nine to five stay in shape because it’s my full-time job and I’m having a hard time doing it,” he said. “But you train twice a day, you have to eat completely right at certain times. This is a specific thing.

Tatum also admitted that losing weight became more difficult as he got older. Although he said that his weight used to “hover around 35 [pounds]Instead, he now usually only sees a difference of 15 pounds.

“Why, when it takes about two months to become truly slim, but you can lose weight in three days? It’s like it’s gone!” he said.

He also admitted that during the diet, he lacked salt more than anything else, because he completely refuses it just a few days before any scene involving nudity.

“Everything just tastes like water, I don’t know. Nothing, he said.

Although Tatum will soon return to his role in Magic Mike 3, he also has a number of other upcoming projects.

His film The Lost City will be released at the end of March. The film will center on a novelist played by Sandra Bullock who goes on a book tour with her cover model before they are kidnapped.

The film will feature Tatum, Bullock, Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe, Brad Pitt and Together Together actress Patti Harrison.

His films “Pussy Island” and “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” are currently in pre-production.
