Alec Baldwin with Hilaria in New York after wrongful death lawsuit filed by Halina Hutchins’ family

Alec Baldwin stepped out in New York with several of his children and wife Hilaria following a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Halina Hutchins, who was killed on the set of Rust in October.

Baldwin was reportedly holding a pistol, which fired a bullet that fatally hit Hutchins in the chest and then struck the shoulder of director Joel Souza, who was standing behind her at the time.

The lawsuit against producers Alec and Rust, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles, alleged that “reckless behavior and cost-cutting measures led to the death of Halina Hutchins”, noting that Hutchins “will be alive and well, hugging her husband and 9- summer… “Old Son” followed the proper protocols on set.

Hutchins family lawyer Brian Panish said Alec “completely denies” his role in her death and “blames others” for the Oct. 21 shooting in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Alec and Hilaria raced through the streets of Manhattan pushing two strollers while he chatted on his cell phone.

Hilaria wore a hot pink down jacket over an oversized sweatshirt, which she paired with leggings and winter boots.

Hutchins’ lawyer told Fox News that Baldwin, 63, “takes no responsibility” for the operator’s sudden death last year and noted that he “refused any gun safety training.”

Panish added, “Secondly, he pointed a gun at someone on set. You can’t do this without plexiglass and other precautions. Thirdly, why were there bullets in the gun from the very beginning, were they fake or real? It was only composition. He had no intention of firing the weapon. He shouldn’t have fired the weapon. No one expected him to do this, but he recklessly fired a weapon, pointing it at three people, killing one and wounding another.

The Hutchins family is suing for punitive damages, funeral and burial expenses, among other damages yet to be determined.

Baldwin said he pointed the gun at Hutchins at her direction and he fired without him pulling the trigger.

“I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin told ABC. “I would never point a gun at someone or pull the trigger. Never.’

The suit states that industry standards require the use of a rubber or similar screw gun during installation, and there was no need for a real gun.

It also states that both Baldwin and assistant director David Halls, who handed him the gun, were to check the revolver for live ammunition.

The lawsuit also includes defendants Halls, Walters, the film’s gunsmith Hannah Gutierez Reid, and ammunition supplier Seth Kenny.

“Any claim that Alec was reckless is completely false,” Aaron Dyer, an attorney for Baldwin and other producers, said Tuesday. “He, Galina and the rest of the crew relied on the statement of the two specialists responsible for checking the gun that it was a “cold gun”, which means that there was no possibility of a shot.”

He added that “actors should be able to rely on weapon and prop specialists, as well as assistant directors, rather than decide on their own when it is safe to use weapons.”
