Horrifying footage shows a skydiver struggling to untangle his parachute in the air after TWO parachutes failed before landing unscathed in a wild rose bush.

  • Bu Dasius, a skydiver with 15 years of experience, said he landed “unharmed”.
  • A double parachute failure occurred during a jump in DeLand, Florida in November 2021.
  • In footage posted to Instagram this week, the skydiver thanked his rescuers.
  • After his main parachute became tangled, he cut it off; then refused and reserve parachute

This is the moment when the skydiver’s parachutes failed twice, and he had to fight to untangle the parachute in the air before he miraculously landed “unscathed” in a thicket of wild roses.

A horrific double parachute failure occurred in DeLand, Florida, and footage of the near-death encounter was posted on the skydiver’s Instagram this week.

Bu Dasius, who has been skydiving for 15 years, told his Facebook followers after the event on November 22 last year that he had made 1,100 skydives without a similar episode.

This week, Boo Dasius posted footage on Instagram of himself abandoning his double parachute while skydiving in DeLand, Florida in November 2021.

This week, Boo Dasius posted footage on Instagram of himself abandoning his double parachute while skydiving in DeLand, Florida in November 2021.

He wrote of the incident: “I am humbled and grateful to everyone who witnessed what many considered to be an absolutely terrible situation that anyone could get out of … I am walking proof that NEVER GIVE UP!!!”

The footage shows the skydiver struggling with his gear and becoming more and more desperate as he struggles with the growing g-force.

On his TikTok, Boo Dasius said that his death did not cross his mind during his fall to the ground.

He said: “…death never crossed my mind. Transforming each moment into the next required maximum concentration. I couldn’t even think about my loved ones.

As he gets closer and closer to the ground, he can be heard screaming frantically, his disorientation intensified as he begins to wobble faster and faster.

“As far as screaming, the g-forces were so strong and kept getting stronger and it took every ounce of energy to deal with them,” Bu Dasius wrote in a reply to a TikTok follower.

The footage ends with his parachute getting stuck in a tree, preventing him from falling.

After cutting off his tangled main parachute, Bu Dasius said that the reserve parachute had also failed and he had to struggle frantically to straighten the parachute as he flew to the ground.

After cutting off his tangled main parachute, Bu Dasius said that the reserve parachute had also failed and he had to struggle frantically to straighten the parachute as he flew to the ground.

Bu Dasius explained that parts of the main parachute had become entangled.

He described how, in a split second, he made the decision to cut off what was trailing behind him before deploying his reserve parachute.

The reserve parachute was then hampered by the main parachute, which he cut off only partially.

He said, “I had a tenderloin. In this cut, everything that could go wrong went wrong, and everything I needed to get away from it worked for me.”

By the time Bu Dasius reached the ground, rescuers, alerted by his fellow skydivers, had already begun to rush towards his landing site.

Bu Dasius went on to describe how the faulty gear ended up landing him in “a tiny clearing under a pine tree, behind huge bands of six-foot-high briars.”

He said, “I was in such a state of shock that I spiraled/wobbled down and landed on my feet.

“I’m starting to hear rescuers from all directions.”

According to Bu Dasius, the rescue team sustained more injuries fighting their way through the thorny briar to reach him than he sustained from the terrifying plummet to the ground.

Bu Dasius ended his Facebook post by paying tribute to his rescuers: “I was overwhelmed with the love of everyone who was there.

“It’s crazy to walk away unscathed.”
